Warehousing students set attendance record!

Students set a new benchmark for class attendance during the semester one warehousing course at Northern Futures this year.

The 11 member class completed a Certificate ll in Warehousing Operations and their commitment and worth ethic was acknowledged at a graduation ceremony at the end of May.

The Gordon’s program manager for warehousing Rory McNamara urged the graduates to see their certificate as a qualification in life skills and training and to remain open to learning and new ideas as they continued along their career pathway.

“Be yourself, show initiative and be proactive,” said Rory. ”Take any opportunity to learn because the opportunities are out there if you are willing to take on a task and see it through to the end.”

Taking home the safest forklift driver award, Chloe Villinger thanked The Gordon and Northern Futures for their fantastic support. Chloe also thanked her family for taking care of her children while she completed the 14 week course.

In addition to the Cert ll qualification, the students gained a forklift licence, first aid certificate and enjoyed weekly visits to Northern Futures industry partners including Viva Energy, Avalon Airport, Cotton On, Accredited Distributors, GrainCorp, Wettenhalls, Godfrey Hirst, Polar Fresh and the Victorian Regional Channels Authority.
